Icestripe padded along the ash and brush, it stuck to her pads. She didn't remember a camp ever seeming so unwelcoming before. It was as if a fire had swept through all the territories long ago, and burned everything and anything in it's path. Icestripe just shuddered thinking about it. In a way, she felt bad for thinking so meanly of her new home, but deep down, she knew where her angry thoughts had come from. I just miss the old camp so much, I don't know if I can ever think of this as I place to raise my kits.. Skeptically, she glanced around at the place LionClan would claim as their camp. There were many trees and plants in their part of the forest, Icestripe noticed, but they were all charred and dead, almost as if leaf-bare were already here when newleaf had only just begun. Beside her, Camokit and Rustlekit whimpered pitifully. "I wish we were still back at the old camp, I miss it." Camokit's little, pitful, voice surprised Icestripe. She had never seen her kits so distressed before. "Yeah, why did we have to leave the old camp momma?" Rustlekit asked, although, Icestripe knew that he knew why they had to leave. She just guessed that the shock of leaving someplace they had known their whole lives--and out of the blue too--was proving to be too much on their tiny souls. "You know why," She licked the two kits between the ears. "the flood, darlings." Icestripe was worried, they didn't seem to be managing very well for kits who were going to be made apprentice in a few sunrises. They were usually bouncing around, happy as clams, for no reason in the world. Now, they just walked with their heads down, staring glumly at the ash that marked the whole clearing of camp.

Goldenpaw had bean keeping his eye of Icestripe's kit. He was worried about them. The journey had bean hard and long. They needed to settle down and find a prey rich place soon. This place of ash's and dead trees was not a fit place for there camp. He would give anything to be able to help hunt but with his twisted leg it was almost impossible to keep up with prey. Padding up to Camokit and Rustlekit dropping some herbs down in front of them. "Here eat these they will give you strength." He gave them each a gentle nudge and hoped they found a place to camp for the night at least. Looking up at Icestripe he gave her an encouraging smile. "Don't worry they will be find I promise." He flicked her ear gentle with his tail and waited to see if the kits ate there herbs.

Camokit licked up the bad smelling herbs. He guessed that one of them was chammomile, but he wasn't sure what the other was. Must be some sort of traveling herbs. He cringed at the taste. It tasted sharp and strong. Camokit glanced around the forest of ash and despair, he tried to look at this as a place he could become an apprentice, then a warrior, then a grumpy elder...but he couldn't. He missed Rainstar's loud yowls from the High rock and the trees in the forest-green and healthy in this season, and how every cat's den was already made as he had been born into LionClan. Everything here seemed wrong. Nothing was made yet, and it didn't seem like anything would be up very soon--even the apprentice den. As he thought of all this, a new wave of sorrow swept over him, worse than the first. And, accidentally, as he was walking, he realized he had veered close to his brother, closer than he had expected. "Camokit, get away from me!" His brother, Rustlekit, hissed in reply. I suppose he's as grief-stricken as me, I've never seen him this angry before... On the journey, his brother seemed to have developed an angry nature. Camokit thought something else had to have been wrong other than leaving the old camp, but he couldn't quite figure out what it was...
